The law of the series previously said: The SC Riessersee loses at Deggendorfer SC.

And that's how it turned out.

The whites and blues lost 1: 2 to the DSC after a penalty shootout in the ice hockey Oberliga Süd.

Deggendorf -

The series of the SC Riessersee is here to stay.

However, this is not good news for the whites and blues.

In the previous five games, victory and defeat alternated.

And with the narrow 1: 2 bankruptcy after a penalty shootout at Deggendorfer SC, the SCR continues this series in the ice hockey Oberliga Süd and ends the year in eighth place.

Researchers start the SCR without the necessary timing

Even a success in Deggendorf would not have changed that, but from the start the guests showed that they wanted to end the year 2021 with a threesome.

So they put the DSC under pressure early on in its third, not wanting to let its build-up play come about in the first place.

However, this succeeded moderately, as the timing was often not right.

Thus the forechecking was canceled out one after the other by deep passes into the top.

This resulted in several DSC chances, which were defused either by aluminum or by goalie Michael Bohm.

Towards the end of third one, the white-blue anticipated the long passes better, showed themselves sometimes dangerous in front of the goal, but it went with a flattering 0-0 into the break.

Outnumbered, the guests get the 0: 1

After Aziz Ehliz missed the tour in a one-on-one with DSC goalie Timo Pielmeier, a boring 19 minutes followed.

Neither team seemed to be able to find the accelerator anymore.

A little back and forth, a little bit here, a bit there.

Both teams lacked the ideas and the necessary risk in the game forward.

And so an outnumbered situation had to be found in order to change something on the scoreboard.

33 seconds before the end, Deggendorf's Martin Podesva got a free shot and found the mini-gap in the goalie corner.

A counterattack from the textbook

In the final third, the SCR was able to give the SCR a “tried” certificate for a long time, while the home side only did the most necessary work despite the tight leadership.

And that was then punished.

Filip Hadamczik pulled the attack and also played the final pass to Tobias Kircher, who made it 1-1.

A counterattack as it is in the textbook.

Even after that, the DSC stuck to its work ethic: no risk, defensive stability at the expense of the offensive.

That almost took revenge again, but Robin Soudek missed the 2-1 for the guests 90 seconds before the end of the third.

SCR missed victory in the majority

Overtime didn't have much more action in store either.

The puck was once in the goal of the hosts, but Soudek had pushed it into the net with his ice skate while falling.

Deggendorf's René Röthke then left the big chance behind and drove into Boehm.

The consequence: two minutes.

But the SCR didn’t know what to do with their superiority except for a shot from the back area by Simon Mayr.

So the one-on-one duels had to decide.

And that was already done after six shooters.

Christopher Chyzowski, Kircher and Soudek failed, and Deggendorf's Luca Miculca became the match winner.

Despite the bitter bankruptcy, SCR coach Pat Cortina highlighted the positive things at the subsequent press conference that made him go into the new year with a positive feeling.
