Barcelona has taken a tough stance towards its French player, Ousmane Dembele, during the contract renewal negotiations.
Several reports claimed that the last meeting between Barcelona and Dembele's representatives ended badly, with a great distance between Barca's offer and the French player's requests.
According to the Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona officials are planning to make a new attempt to persuade Dembele to renew this January, but without raising the value of the last offer.
The newspaper pointed out that if Barcelona refused to renew, Barcelona would try to sell Dembele in the winter Mercato, but the player rejects this idea because he will lose the signing bonus that he will get from his new club when he moves for free.
Several reports have claimed that Dembele is receiving great attention from France's Paris Saint-Germain, Newcastle United and Manchester United's English.
The French player's contract with Barca expires next summer, and he has not yet agreed to renewal offers.
