But a big one fell on Maccabi Haifa today (Saturday) with the news of the death of the club's former legend, the late Yeshayahu Held, who is 92 years old.
Held began his career as a left-back for Maccabi Haifa in the late 1940s and early 1950s and is considered the fastest player on the team.
In the mid-1950s he moved to the striker position and played there until the end of his career.
Held recorded 284 league and cup games in the Maccabi Haifa uniform, in which he scored 74 goals.
60 of those goals, Held scored in the league and is ranked 10th in the club's all-time goalscorers table.
Held's record achievement with Maccabi Haifa was, of course, the historic cup win in 1962, which is considered the first title the club has won.
Held was a full partner in the historic win.
