British tennis player Emma Radocano has withdrawn from a tournament in Melbourne as part of the preparations for the Australian Open.
Reuters quoted Radokano as saying: “After coming out of isolation after being infected with Corona, I cannot participate in the first tournament in Melbourne this week due to lack of time.”
It was expected that Radocano will participate in one of the two preparatory tournaments for the Australian Open in Melbourne, between the fourth and the ninth of January.
19-year-old Radocano became the first female rookie to win a Grand Slam title when she won the US Open at Flushing Meadows in New York last September.
