The Dorfen mini-squad turns the game around and wins 3: 2 after 0: 2 deficit against Amberg.
Dorfen - Again with Tomas Vrba and Gasper Susanj, but still badly decimated, the ice pirates of ESC Dorfen defeated ERSC Amberg 3: 2 (1: 2, 1: 0, 1: 0) with the best performance of the season on Sunday evening.
It didn't start well.
After just a few seconds, Andreas Marek had to prevent a goal against Leon Hartl, Amberg's youngest at the age of 20. Then the ice pirates decided where to go. They also put up with a two-minute penalty. In the majority, Thomas Vrba demanded everything from Carsten Metz with a huge hit in the guest goal. So the ice pirates were in the game quite well - up to the 13th minute. Josef Folger had to go into the dressing room with a match penalty. The attack of the ESC attacker was certainly too hard, but this maximum penalty went too far for many in the hall.
Memories of the Waldkraiburg guest appearance were awakened when the ESC had to swallow five hits for a fiver. And so it started again. 14 seconds of the penalty time had only expired when Andreas Pielmeier hit from the blue line, another 15 seconds later Hartl was unstoppable with his hit. The ice pirates threw everything into the balance and could really prevent worse. Very well positioned by Lukas Kirsch, Urban Sodja even managed to hit the next goal despite the decimation.
And so motivated the ice pirates came out of the cabin for the second third. Now the Ambergers got the penalties. The ESC could not capitalize on a 37-second double majority, but a power play crowned Kirsch when he deflected a Vrba shot to make it 2-2. The opening goal had to fall a little later when Tomas Vrba managed to pull away, but failed to goalkeeper Metz and a little later the puck hit the post.
Incredible, but the 13 remaining ESC field players also dominated the top 18 guest squad in the last third.
After even the best opportunities had not brought the ice pirates any success and the Upper Palatinate appeared dangerous in front of Marek a few times in the middle of this period of the game, defender Erik Walter chased the disc into the ERSC mesh.
The ice pirates did not let the Wild Lions come into play in the remaining seven minutes.
Raphael Steiger with a shot from the post and Kirsch with a double chance had more hits on the racket.
