Good news at the end of the year.

Erding - Also this year, Erdinger athletes were able to look forward to a squad appointment, and five athletes were really proud when they received their mail.

For every throwing, jumping or running discipline in athletics there are standards, suitable for every age group, that the athletes have to achieve in order to be accepted into a squad.

Due to their achievements in 2021, Theresa Schmid (W 13), Magdalena Reisinger (W 13), Katja Riedl (W 13), Lilli Weber (U 18) and Valentina Sailer (U 18) cleared this hurdle.

The U 15 squad (formerly E-squad) is the first athletics squad offered by the Upper Bavaria district for the 20 best boys and girls.

Reisinger and Riedl made an appointment because of their performance in the pole vault (both 2.80 m).

Her club colleague Schmid, of the same age, had such a great time over the 800 m (2: 20.03 min) that she was immediately appointed one higher in the Bavarian national team "Lauf".

Also in the D-squad, albeit in the “throwing squad” of the BLV, is 16-year-old Weber, who is now an old hand.

Because of her performance with the discus (37.67 m) Weber has been appointed again.

With her best time over the 400 m (59.73 sec), the 17-year-old Sailer can take part in the base training run.

Since October there have been a number of appointments for management training in Oberhaching and in the Werner-von-Linde-Halle in Munich and, in addition, weekly base training for the elderly in Munich.

In addition to their home trainers Christian Weber, Alex Bauer and Kerstin Weber, the athletes now receive additional training units in which the youngest are looked after by coaches from the Upper Bavaria district, the D-squad athletes from the respective BLV regional coaches.
