The Israeli handball team took off this morning (Sunday) for northern Macedonia, where it will hold two preparatory games tomorrow and the day after tomorrow against the high-quality local team, which is preparing for the European Championships, which will open on January 13.
For Israel, this is a concluding preparation for the World Cup qualifiers (first stage), which will be held this weekend in Cluj, Romania.
The opening meeting will take place on Friday (18:00) and long for our blue-and-whites host.
Then on Saturday and Sunday (15:00) the team will face Moldova and Cyprus.
The goal is to finish in one of the first two places, and qualify for the next stage where the team will meet one of the teams that will be eliminated from the European Championship in the first stage.
The squad, led by Oleg Botenko, includes the Legionnaires: Dan Tepper (Saran, France) and Yahav Shamir (Winterthur, Switzerland) in the goalkeeper position;
Adir Cohen (Tremblay, France), Lior Gorman (Charbour, France), Ram and Daniel Musindi (Saran, France) in the connecting positions;
Yoav Lombroso (Limoges, France) and Jonathan Dayan (Rimper, Germany) in the center positions;
And in the pivot position, Tomer Bodenheimer (Zurich, Switzerland).
