The French national handball player Elohim Prandi was injured in a knife fight on New Year's Eve - just a few days before the start of the European Championship.
Paris - bad news for France.
Almost two weeks before the European Handball Championship, national player Elohim Prandi was injured in a knife attack on New Year's Eve.
This was announced by his club Paris St. Germain on New Years (Saturday, January 1st).
Accordingly, Prandi is out of danger and is currently being treated in hospital.

Handball star Prandi is said to have suffered several stab wounds.
Whether the 23-year-old backcourt player will remain part of the French squad for the European Championships (January 13th to 30th) in Hungary and Slovakia now appears extremely questionable.
How the stabbing came about was initially not known.
France's national coach Guillaume Gille has already had to do without Luka Karabatic.
The 33-year-old is out due to a muscular injury.
Before Karabatic, Nedim Remili (broken foot), Timothey N'Guessan and Jean-Jacques Acquevillo (both ankles) had to cancel.

Nikola Karabatic, Benoit Kounkoud and Yanis Lenne, who all tested positive for Covid-19, but could get fit in time, also remain questionable.
France will face Croatia (January 13), Ukraine (January 15) and Serbia (January 17) at the European Championships.
The German national handball team around national coach Alfred Gislason starts the tournament against Belarus on January 14th.
This is followed by the games against Austria (January 16) and Poland (January 18).
The two best teams of the six preliminary round groups qualify for the main round, in which the semi-final participants are played out in two groups of six.
