Frankfurt - This is definitely not how you imagine the start of the new year: For coach Oliver Glasner from Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt, the turn of the year was pretty painful.
The Austrian suffered a broken cheekbone in a fall with an e-scooter and had to undergo facial surgery on Sunday in the Frankfurt University Clinic.

"Unfortunately I was inattentive for a little while and crashed unhappily. Fortunately nothing worse happened to me," said Glasner.
"The face is swollen. But otherwise everything is fine."
For the 47-year-old, the assistant coaches Michael Angerschmid and Ronald Brunmayr took over the training control for the time being.
According to Eintracht, Glasner “will be able to resume his work on the training ground on Tuesday or Wednesday, depending on the healing process”.
The preparation for the first second round match in the Bundesliga on Saturday against Borussia Dortmund is "not affected".

Eintracht Frankfurt: Lots of failures - now coach Glasner is also missing
In preparation for the second half of the season, Eintracht Frankfurt has to cope with three other failures in addition to its coach. Defensive man Kristijan Jakic, striker Gonçalo Paciência and substitute goalkeeper Jens Grahl are in domestic isolation after positive Corona tests and therefore missed the start of training for Hessen last Thursday. According to the club, all three players are symptom-free. They were "not hit that bad," Glasner reported. He's hoping for the trio to return this week.
A large part of the team had already undergone the booster vaccination before Christmas.
The vaccination and recovery rate in the licensed player area is now almost 100 percent.
The injured Jens Petter Hauge and Christopher Lenz as well as Aymen Barkok and Rafael Borré, who are at the Africa Cup with Morocco, were also absent from the first training session after the short Christmas break.
The Colombian international striker is not expected to rejoin the team until this week after an extended vacation.
FC Bayern is also plagued by the corona virus.
