Frenchman Sébastien Loeb (Prodrive) won the second stage of the Dakar 2022 rally-raid in the car category on Monday, a 338 km special between Ha'il and al-Qaisumah (northeast).
With 3 min 28 ahead of the Qatari Nasser al-Attiyah (Toyota), Loeb however failed to steal first place from him overall and remains second in the standings at 9:16.
“The track was good and visible all the way, in the end it became a WRC special between two WRC drivers.
We were at full capacity, I managed to glean little by little, no doubt helped by the fact that he was opening the track, ”declared the Frenchman at the finish.
