“Me and my brother always wanted to play on a team with Yasin.

The other two cays don't feel threatened by the new addition. Kaan Cay scored 16 times this season. Yasin Cay has twelve goals, not to mention the many assists. And Mehmet Cay "will also get a lot of scorer points", believes coach Tas. But couldn't he also cause unrest? Especially during his time at FC Erding and FC Moosinning, he made a name for himself as a difficult guy. The 24-year-old doesn't deny that either: "I was very emotional a few years ago." But he has matured, he promises. He understood “that this is just a hobby. I just want to play soccer and have fun. "

Mehmet Cay, like his brother, is at home on the nine or offensively on the grand piano.

For Yasin Cay, also a striker, there is only one difference between his two cousins, he reveals with a smile: "One is left-footed (Kaan, ed.), The other is right-footed." For Kaan Cay, his brother is an absolute asset : “It's going well, but there is always room for improvement.

My brother will help us. ”He himself was not entirely uninvolved in the change.

Mehmet Cay says: “I always saw how he could easily leave ten minutes before training.

And I had to cover a total of 150 kilometers every week. "

That was strange.

Because until Mehmet's move to Vatanspor, the brothers always played in the same team and always drove together.

Mehmet Cay's first stop in the men's area was SE Freising - his brother Kaan was in the same club, but still in the A-youth.

The following year both came to FC Erding, which was still playing in the district league at the time.

After a year I went to FC Moosinning and then to Hohenlinden.

The first separation came in the second half of the infinitely long corona season.

Both went to a Turkish club in Erding and Freising.

“Of course there was already contact back then.

But I had a good friend at Vatanspor who I wanted to play with, and it wasn't a bad offer financially either, ”says Mehmet Cay.

And what about the Türkgücü offer?

“Sure, there is an expense allowance,” says the 24-year-old.

But he does not want to name an amount.

It is also not the main reason for his move, he says and comes back to his hobby quote: “I no longer wanted to drive three times as long every week just to play football.
