Top 14: only 2,000 subscribers in the stands at Paris La Défense Arena for Racing-Clermont on Saturday

Jacky Lorenzetti often reminds us that Paris La Défense Arena is not a rugby stadium that hosts concerts, but on the contrary a performance hall that hosts matches.

And in the current context, the president of Racing 92 must regret it.

It is indeed the gauge of the covered places (2,000 people), and not that of the outdoor stadiums (5,000 places), which will apply in the enclosure of the Ciel et Blanc club, this Saturday at 9 pm. The match between Racing 92 (10th, 26 points) and Clermont (7th, 33 points), for the 14th day of the Top 14, will therefore be played in front of 2000 spectators maximum. The Hauts-de-Seine club indicated it yesterday, its requests for exemption from this new health protocol having been refused for the moment.

The Paris La Défense Arena hall, with a maximum capacity of 25,000 spectators, will therefore ring hollow this Saturday evening.

Racing 92 will reserve the 2,000 places available to its subscribers and to a few partners.

The boxes will be closed, on-site catering will only be seated, and no place will be available for sale, on site or online.

The public who have already bought tickets for this shock against the Auvergne club will be reimbursed, says Racing 92.

Dear supporters,

Following the new government measures & the 2000 people tonnage, @ParisLaDefArena will only welcome Racing 92 subscribers as well as Club Partners.

Take care, we hope to see you soon ❤️

A new blow for the Ile-de-France public, already deprived of Racing's last two home games, on December 18 against the Ospreys in the European Cup (canceled), and on December 27 against Pau in the Top 14 (postponed), both times because of the Covid-19.

But a blow also for the many Clermont supporters of the capital.
