Fans of Versailles (N2), Petit Poucet (with Bergerac) of the Coupe de France, inherited the pros of Toulouse (L2) in the round of 16, during the draw made on Tuesday evening.

Christopher Ibayi (26 years old), the top scorer in the Yvelines team (12 achievements in all competitions), tells us about his joy at being able to participate in this event (January 29 or 30).

Are you disappointed to come across Toulouse?

CHRISTOPHER IBAYI

.

It's a mixed feeling.

We would have preferred to draw a formation of L1.

Not necessarily PSG, because we do not touch the ball too much against them, we saw it again yesterday

(Monday)

against Vannes (0-4), but I would have loved to face OM.

Now, Toulouse, by its history, is for me a club of L1 and not of L2.

It is also a very good team (2nd in L2).

What are your chances of making it to the quarter-finals?

Everything is possible in a match and there are surprises in the Coupe de France.

We will give the maximum against Toulouse.

We will be the outsiders.

We will not have any pressure, unlike them.

How is the atmosphere in the city with this epic?

The Coupe de France highlights amateur clubs.

With this historic qualification for the round of 16, people recognize us in town and congratulate us on our match on Sunday (4-0 victory against La Roche-sur-Yon).

We will try to continue our journey to highlight the city of Versailles.

The Cup brings a special atmosphere that we don't have in the league.

This competition is very popular in France.

There are people and excitement in every game.

Is this the best time of your career?

Absoutely !

The season is not over, but it looks great at the moment.

We had a very good first part of the season in the championship (2nd in its group) and a great course in the cup.

Honestly, we would never have believed last August that we would play an 8th final in the Coupe de France.

Even if we haven't fired from pro clubs before, we have had difficult games, without ever giving up.

You have to stay focused, because the number one objective remains the championship.

How do you manage to reconcile the championship and the Cup?

Through work and perseverance.

We also need to stay clear-headed and not get too big of a head.

Our strength is to have a large and complete group.

Even those who play the least have always been there to push others.

It is often said that victories call for victories.

It's always better to win to prepare for a meeting.

The club's priority is to climb within 2-3 years in National, but if we can do it this year, it will be better.

The goal is to be ready on Saturday January 15

(against Saint-Pryvé-Saint-Hilaire)

and to keep the momentum going.

Do you dream of a course like Rumilly, semi-finalist of the event last season, beaten 5-1 by Monaco?

Sure !

Everyone dreams of going as far as possible in the Coupe de France.

The more we pass the laps, the less we want to go out.

But if the adventure were to end against Toulouse, we would come out with our heads held high with this brilliant course

(7 wins)
