After Ligue 1 and the Premier League, UEFA in turn has adapted the calendar of its club competitions for the next Coupe d

Hot in front!

All football players have integrated it for some time now: the calendar for the 2022-2023 season promises to be unique because of the 2022 World Cup organized from November 21 to December 18, 2022 in Qatar.

As a result, national and continental competitions are obliged to comply with these dates, like Ligue 1 which will interrupt its championship on the evening of the 15th day (12-13 November) to start it again on December 28 with an unprecedented Hexagonal “Boxing Day”.

A day is even scheduled for January 1, 2023!

UEFA has also rethought its calendar in express mode for the Champions League.

This Tuesday, the European body has, thus, formalized the dates of the group phase 2022-2023.

The first day will take place as usual in early September (6-7), but the other five will be tightened by November 2!

That is to say a month ahead of the dates announced in previous seasons when the queen event had its last fires at the beginning of December.

The draw for the knockout stages of the next C1 is, for its part, set for November 7, 2023.

The group stages of the Europa League and the Conference League will also take place over the course of two months from September to November. Abroad, the main European Leagues have also had to make changes in the planning of their calendar. If La Liga and Serie A have not yet communicated their main dates for the next season, the Premier League and the Bundesliga have already revised their copy.

Across the Channel, the first day is set for the weekend of August 6.

The domestic competition will stretch until the 16th day scheduled for November 12 and 13, 2022. The Premier League will resume its rights for the traditional Boxing Day on December 26, just one week after the World Cup final.

In Germany, the championship will start on August 5, 2022 with a two-month hiatus between mid-November and January 20, 2023.

As a reminder, the Blues of Didier Deschamps will regroup in September for the last international break, before the kick-off of the 2022 World Cup, with the last two days of the group stage of the League of Nations against Austria and Denmark September 22 and 27. At the very beginning of November, the coach should unveil the list of 23 players. These will be brought together from November 14, as announced by UEFA in a circular on July 19. The opener will be held on November 21 at Al Bayt Stadium, pitting Qatar against one of 24 non-seeded caps. The tricolor world champions will make their entry into contention on November 24 at the latest.

With a season that will stretch until mid-June 2023 with the Final 4 of the League of Nations, some internationals could chain more than 60 matches in ten months!
