Qatar's Nasser al-Attiyah (Toyota) took eighth place at just 5:10 and achieved the real good operation of the day by pushing back his runner-up in the overall standings, the Frenchman Sébastien Loeb, to more than 35 minutes, following the breakage of his longitudinal transmission and the end of the stage on two drive wheels.
