The Israeli handball team is preparing for the World Cup qualifiers to be held in Cluj, Romania this weekend, and will open on Friday in a game against Romania (and the games on Saturday and Sunday against Moldova and Cyprus).
The team is holding the concluding preparation in Skopje in northern Macedonia - where it held a training match last night against the local team, which is preparing for the European Championships.
After the 31:28 loss to the Macedonians (in a game in which Israel led 14:15 in the half), the second game scheduled to take place tonight (Tuesday) was canceled.
The reason for this - the presence of three players from the Israeli national team has been verified for Corona.
During the evening, another check is made for the players and the professional and administrative teams, which may or may not be decisive regarding the continued arrival of the planned arrival in Romania tomorrow.
The team left for Macedonia with a squad that included 17 players, while captain Daniel Shekel and goalkeeper Oron Bargil are also expected to arrive in Romania - the trip was scheduled for them even before the positive results for the three players of the team tonight.
The task of the Israeli team in Romania will be to finish in the first two places, to qualify for the qualifying round, but before that we will have to wait and know the results of the tests and hence wish a complete cure.
