The third ski jumping of the Four Hills Tournament has been canceled for Tuesday due to strong winds at Bergiselschanze in Innsbruck and should be rescheduled for the next day.
This was decided by those responsible for the FIS World Federation on Tuesday after the start had previously been postponed several times.
The ski jump in Tyrol is known for its susceptibility to wind.
The new attempt should therefore not be started on Wednesday in Innsbruck, but in Bischofshofen, the last place on the tour.
The start, which was actually planned for 1.30 p.m., had previously been postponed several times.
The trial run also had to be canceled without replacement.
Meanwhile, there were no problems in qualifying on Monday.
In the 70-year history of the tour, it is only the second competition that was completely canceled on the planned day.
This happened for the first time on January 4th, 2008, when there was also a foehn storm in Innsbruck.
At that time, two competitions were also held in Bischofshofen on January 5th and 6th.
On the facility in Pongau, the organizers can act more flexibly thanks to the existing floodlights and fewer wind problems.
