Less isolation, tests 48 hours before a match: the LFP unveils its new protocol to deal with Covid-19

The Professional Football League (LFP) lightens its device concerning the health protocol. Among the changes, the isolation of positive players will be reduced.


It is a new health protocol that the LFP has decided to put in place.

Significant changes which should allow "

players to return 13 days after having tested positive against 18 previously

".

A player with a complete vaccination schedule will have to respect a seven-day isolation period.

But this new protocol could change the situation since the match between Bordeaux and Marseille could be maintained.

With 19 cases of Covid in the Girondins ranks, those who test positive between December 17 and 21 will be able to take part in this meeting scheduled for Friday (9 p.m.).

Lille's match against Lorient would not be threatened either until further notice.

Players will also be tested 48 hours before each game.

The goal is to avoid as much as possible the postponement of matches in the face of more and more positive cases.
