Ice hockey kit man Brian Hamilton probably owes his life to medical student Nadia Popovici.
She found a suspicious spot on the back of his neck.

Nadia Popovici sits directly behind the Plexiglas in the first row and sees a dark spot on the neck of Vancouver kit man Brian Hamilton.

So the 22-year-old medical student picks up her smartphone, types in a message and shows it to Hamilton: “The mole on her neck is possibly cancer.
Please see a doctor. ”Hamilton did as recommended, the stain turned out to be“ malignant melanoma ”, also known as black skin cancer.
Doctors removed the malignant tumor, which Hamilton himself had not noticed.

It didn't last long - Popovici was found after an hour.
"I just wanted to tell her that her persistence was taken seriously," said Hamilton at a press conference.
