Yesterday (Monday) afternoon, the management of the Israel Sailing Association convened to approve the professional plan for 2022, the first full year of activity in the Paris 2024 campaign. The plans, submitted by the professional director, Eli Zuckerman, were unanimously approved.
The professional plan for 2022 sets out the working method in the Olympic teams, which began to be based on sailing in the Tokyo campaign. In this method, the athletes train as a team, under a national coach, thus constituting training opponents for each other, in the fight for the Olympic ticket. This form of work proved to be successful in the men's windsurfing team, where after Yoav Cohen's choice to represent Israel in Tokyo, the team continued to train as a unit, in order to bring him to the Olympics to the best of his ability.
In addition to the approval of the professional plan, the management approved Zuckerman's request not to engage in the Kate Foil model, in which Gal Zuckerman competes, in order to avoid a conflict of interest.
The person who will coordinate the activities in the model will be the professional director of the youth, Eran Sela, who will work together with the coach of the Kate national team, Shahaf Amir.
In sailing the situation of "second generation" for sailors is very common and the union takes every appearance of preference seriously.
As will be recalled, upon the entry of his home into model competitions, Zuckerman appealed to the union management to regulate the work procedures.

Zuckerman said: "Several months ago, I asked the chairman of the union to avoid a conflict of interest in the model.
I am a proud father of two talented surfers, but of course I will not be able to engage in decision making regarding my home.
I will continue to manage all the other models professionally and I am glad that the work at Kate will be done with great professionalism, Eran.
I will continue to encourage from the shore. "
