Striker Romelu Lukaku returned to training at Chelsea on Tuesday.
The Belgian was kicked out of the squad at the weekend after a TV interview in which he indirectly criticized his coach Thomas Tuchel.
According to Tuchel, the matter is now over.
"He apologized," said the Chelsea coach on Tuesday.
"We are glad that we took the time to look at the matter and talk about it in peace."
Tuchel had shown upset over the weekend about the interview that Sky Italia had broadcast last week.
That caused "a lot of noise" before the game against Liverpool (2-2).
Now the trainer expressed himself conciliatory.
"It was important for me to understand clearly and to believe that this was not on purpose," said Tuchel.
"He didn't do it on purpose to make that kind of noise before a game like this."
The 28-year-old Lukaku could be back in the Chelsea squad on Wednesday when the Blues meet Tottenham Hotspur in the semi-final first leg of the League Cup.
"It's not as big as people might want it to be," added Tuchel.
"It's not small, but it's small enough to keep calm, accept an apology, and move on."
