According to Gladbach's sports director Max Eberl, FC Bayern is pushing for the second half of the opening game of the Bundesliga to be postponed due to numerous corona cases.
"The fact is that Bayern would like to sell," said Eberl at a Borussia press conference.
Eberl reported that he spoke with the league and also with Bayern's sports director Hasan Salihamidžić.
"That is not our topic," he commented on the decision of the German Football League.
"The Bundesliga ultimately decides whether the game takes place or not," said Gladbach's coach Adi Hütter.
He is further preparing his team for an event on Friday evening (8.30 p.m., live ticker SPIEGEL.de; TV: Sat.1; Stream: DAZN) in the Munich arena.
In addition to the eight players around Manuel Neuer and Leroy Sané who tested positive, Bayern are also missing Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, Bouna Sarr (both Africa Cup) and Josip Stanisic (injured).
The national players Leon Goretzka and Niklas Süle were also not on the training ground on Wednesday morning.
According to the DFL game regulations, at least 15 licensed players and / or amateurs / contract players who are authorized to play in the licensed team must be available.
These 15 players must include nine licensed players, including a goalkeeper.
Blocked or injured actors are also counted.
On Wednesday, coach Julian Nagelsmann had ten healthy field players and three goalkeepers in team training in Munich.
