The appeal by OM, which challenged the decisions of the Professional Football League (LFP) after the incidents that occurred in November during the Lyon - OM match in Ligue 1, was ruled inadmissible by the French Federation.
The Higher Appeal Commission of the Federation (FFF) ruled the appeal "inadmissible" because the OM was "not concerned" by the initial disciplinary sanctions, according to a source with knowledge of the file, confirming information from the daily L'Équipe.
In the first instance, the disciplinary committee of the LFP had indeed sanctioned OL with a penalty point in the standings, for the behavior of one of his supporters who had thrown a plastic bottle at the Marseillais Dimitri Payet during this match played on November 21. The match, interrupted after four minutes, was given to replay in the walls of OL in Décines, behind closed doors. It has not yet been reprogrammed.
The OM had requested, in a document sent to the disciplinary committee of the LFP and of which AFP was aware, a sentence "obviously greater than two points, one of which is suspended, the loss of points being inevitable".
The management of the Marseille club also hoped to win the meeting on the green carpet.
OL, defender of the thesis of “the individual and isolated act”, had also regretted in a press release “a very heavy sanction”, but had not appealed to the FFF.
