Oberhummel

- On Friday, January 7th, and on Saturday, January 8th, the two young stick shooters of SC Oberhummel, Maxi Kloiber and Felix Karpfinger, will be about the sausage.

On Friday the two will start at the Bavarian championships in the U19 competition in Mitterskirchen, which is scheduled from Thursday, January 6th to Saturday, January 8th.

Maxi Kloiber leads confidently

The goal is not just a place on the Trepperl, but above all qualification for the national championships one day later in the same hall.

The German is also part of the Max-Aicher-Cup, in which Maxi Kloiber confidently leads the rankings among the under 19-year-olds after four competitions.

It goes without saying that the objectives for the coming weekend are accordingly ambitious.

“I would like to become Bavarian champion and also win the national title in my age group on Saturday,” says the 18-year-old apprentice from Oberhummel confidently.

Big competition

But the competition is fierce.

In addition to Johannes Michl (SV Pocking) and Maxi Mayer (SV Ostermünchen), Kloiber also has to keep an eye on his SCO team-mate Felix Karpfinger.

He is currently fourth in the Max Aicher Cup ranking and recently took second place behind Maxi Kloiber at the fourth tournament in the series in Freilassing.

The two Oberhummler stick shooters are currently in excellent shape and shortly before Christmas they won the Bavarian U23 team shooting championship together wearing the VER Selb jersey.

Now it should also work out in the U19 individual competition of long-distance shooters with the Bayern title at the weekend.

Points for the Max-Aicher-Cup ranking are the way to the EM

The Bavarian on Friday is only the transit station for both SCO athletes on Saturday.

Because only a top placement with the Germans also brings points for the Max-Aicher-Cup ranking.

And that, in turn, is decisive for whether you have a chance of going to the U19 European Championship with the national team in February.

That is why Felix Karpfinger is also hoping for a podium with the Germans.

"Anything is possible between second and sixth, it depends on how well you are on the day," believes the 17-year-old.

“The competition this year is as strong as ever, so anything can happen.” Nevertheless, Karpfinger believes that the path to the U19 title will only lead through Maxi Kloiber.

He is the top favorite and would be hard to beat if he continues as before.

Kloiber and Karpfinger also compete in the U23

The focus of the two Oberhummler stick shooters is clearly on their current age group U 19. Nevertheless, both will also take part in the Bavarian U23 championship in Mitterskirchen on Friday and try to qualify for the Germans on Sunday for the older age group.
