In the third competition of the Four Hills Tournament, it was mixed for Markus Eisenbichler.

Nevertheless, he caused a lot of enthusiasm - with a reaction that could be heard live on TV.

Bischofshofen - The really big coup shouldn't be there again. Since Sven Hannawald's great triumph in 2001, German ski jumpers have been waiting for an overall victory in the legendary Four Hills Tournament. Hannawald himself is now available to ARD as an expert - while ZDF expert Toni Inauer outraged with a statement about women's ski jumping. Meanwhile, the hopes for this year's edition of the tour on the German side were fully on Markus Eisenbichler and Karl Geiger.

At the latest after the third competition, which was not held in Innsbruck on January 5th due to the capricious weather, but at the fourth jumping location in Bischofshofen, it is clear that the golden eagle will probably not go to Germany again. Before the final competition on Thursday - which Merkur.de accompanies in the live ticker - Eisenbichler and Geiger are tied in fourth place in the overall standings, but 43 points behind the leading Ryoyu Kobayashi.

Four Hills Tournament in Bischofshofen: Eisenbichler turns to the cameraman after jumping - "Lord God"

If she wanted to jump even closer to the top, it should have happened in the third jump at the latest. For Eisenbichler, however, the chance was already a long way off in the first round. The ex-world champion jumped 130 meters with his first attempt - too little for the competition and not very satisfactory for himself. Eisenbichler was celebrated after his first jump anyway - because of a strange scene that happened in the outskirts of the Bischofshofen arena .

Traditionally, the jumpers are filmed by the camera in the run - of course, the first reaction to the jump interests the fans of course.

A cameraman moved "Eisei", as Eisenbichler is also often called, but a bit too close to the skin.

On TV it was possible to see and above all hear how the 30-year-old addressed the cameraman directly.

"Jesus Christ, you're on my ski tip," said the native of Upper Bavaria bluntly in the face of the cameraman.

Much to the amusement of TV commentator Tom Bartels, who was on duty for ARD and had a lot of fun with the scene.

The "Sportschau" also spoke up about the mini mishap.

For a video sequence showing the situation, the sports program wrote on Instagram: “No offense”.

The ski jumping fans were just as enthusiastic as commentator Bartels.

"World class", "Best Man" and several tearful smileys followed as a reaction.

With the second jump, Eisenbichler then slipped better.

With the daily best distance of 140.5 meters, he jumped to eighth place and thus to fourth place in the tour rating before the last competition - and after his super set in the second run, no one was standing around on his skis.

The Four Hills Tournament is one of the great winter sports highlights in every season - and it also has something spectacular to offer outside of the competitions.

An Austrian eagle, for example, is almost blind due to a rare eye disease - and still dares to venture out onto the big jumps.
