It was a more than credible hypothesis, it materializes this Thursday noon.

The Professional Football League has taken into account and therefore accepted Dunkirk's request by postponing the match of the 20th day of Ligue 2 scheduled against Paris FC this Saturday at 7 p.m.

The workforce of the northern club is, in fact, affected by a wave of Covid-19 contaminations.

With three new cases identified following the tests on Thursday morning, this brings the number of players concerned to 14.

Their identity has not been disclosed.

All were placed in solitary confinement.

The Dunkirk professional group has trained all the same, but in very small numbers.

No postponement date has been mentioned and set for the moment.

Paris FC, which currently occupies 3rd place in Ligue 2, will therefore not resume the championship route this Saturday.

For the moment, the Parisian club seems relatively spared by the Coronavirus epidemic since its resumption of training on December 28 and its friendly match against the Red Star (2-2) on December 31.

Only a player who is not a regular holder was indeed declared positive last week after the four cases in December.

On Tuesday, the LFP changed its health protocol, clubs must now test their players 48 hours before matches, including those who have been vaccinated who, until now, were not.

The rule according to which a match can be played if at least 20 players (including a goalkeeper) - on the list of 30 provided at the beginning of the season - are able, remains in force.

Two other Ligue 2 meetings scheduled for this weekend, including that of leader AC Ajaccio, have also been postponed due to cases of Covid-19: Caen - Niort and Amiens - AC Ajaccio.
