The management of the Israel Olympic Committee approved the 2022 budget of NIS 28,731,000, a decrease of 16% compared to NIS 34,213,084 in 2021, when the Olympic Games were held in Tokyo.
More than 80% of the budget of the Israel Olympic Committee for 2022 will be devoted to competitive achievement sports.
This is an amount of NIS 22,921,000.
Scientific / medical accompaniment and special projects, in which the mental project is budgeted in the amount of NIS 4.8 million.
The budget for scholarships for outstanding athletes, scholarships and incentives in the various competitions will be about NIS 12.5 million in the coming year.
In addition, in the 2022 budget, the Olympic Committee in Israel registers revenues of approximately NIS 7.5 million from sponsorships and donations.
In the budget for the coming year, we can already see the impetus of the process of cultivating Israel's young generation of achievement on the way to the Los Angeles Olympics 2028 with an investment of about NIS 1 million.
Yael Arad, Chairman of the Israel Olympic Committee, said: "When I took office last November, I stated that the achievement vision that I will lead is a horizontal investment in the achievement youth - the growth engine of Olympic sports in Israel, so we decided to make a massive investment in pre-Olympic youth preparations.
The main goals are to increase the base of the achievement pyramid while emphasizing increasing the international experience of tracked athletes aged 15-20 in each of the years of preparation for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
"At the same time, there is a need for investment in achievement youth coaches. I have no doubt that the Ministry of Sports will join this important program as a power multiplier, and together with the Achievement Sports Unit we will embark on a comprehensive national program.
