The spectators in the Dorfen ice rink experienced an unbelievable game.

Dorfen - No way: "It's about nothing for both of them." An inspiring Bayern league game went into extra time, and ESC Dorfen won on Wednesday evening against ERV Schweinfurt after extra time 7: 6 (2: 2, 2: 2, 2: 2; 1: 0) goals.

Today the people of Dorfen can take a deep breath because the game at ESV Buchloe has been canceled.

Again, ice pirate trainer Franz Steer had to improvise. Alexander Voglhuber and Dario Braun from the 1b as well as the 18-year-old Reik Walter from the U20 had to help out in order to have 14 field players. The Mighty Dogs started like the fire brigade, and Luca Endres in the ESC gate had hard work to do. After all, thanks to a pass from Urban Sodja, Tomas Vrba also had a top-class scoring chance after three minutes, but narrowly missed.

Nils Melchior concluded a true state of siege of the ESC sanctuary on the Schweinfurt tour (6th). It was earned for a long time, but the ice pirates fought their way into the game. Captain Vrba made a great move to 1: 1 (12th). And the 34-year-old ESC top scorer outnumbered the 2: 1 (18th). But 29 seconds before the break siren, the Mighty Dogs were also successful with one more man thanks to Christian Masel.

But 27 seconds after the restart, the ice pirates were already back in front. Lukas Kirsch had directed a Vrba shot perfectly into the Kreuzeck. Kirsch, Vrba, Kirsch - in this order, the ESC attackers gave top-class opportunities to shoot in the 24th minute. The guests were more ripped off. Joshua Bourne in the majority (34th) and Melchior (35th) turned the game upside down with their hits. However, the “counterfeit” ensured that there was a tie at the second break. This time Kirsch steered a Sodja shot past the powerless Benedict Roßberg under the bar.

With Andreas Marek between the posts for the slightly ailing Luca Endres, the ice pirates tackled the final act of this thrilling exchange of blows. 19 seconds lay between the renewed Schweinfurt leadership and Dorfen's equalization (49th). Bourne had deflected an Easter Day shot, and Urban Sodja refined the next ESC attack away from the face-off. Great luck then for the strongly defending Marek, when a defender in front of the line was able to knock away the puck. Defense chief Gasper Susanj then punched 6: 5 in the second attempt (55th). That evening, the outnumbered game of both teams was worth the entry fee. When Kevin Marquardt Dorfens Raphael Steiger equalized again, he was out for exactly nine seconds (56th).

This game just needed an encore, that is, extra time.

But it only lasted 15 seconds, then Sodja, the outstanding ice pirate, crowned a solo run with the winning goal.

Today's game in Buchloe canceled

For the puck hunters of the ESC Dorfen this evening at 8 p.m. at ESV Buchloe, the third challenge since the beginning of the year would have been pending.

However, Buchloe had already had to cancel the catch-up meeting on Wednesday against Miesbach at short notice due to a positive corona test in the team, and on Thursday evening the news came that the guest appearance of the ESC Dorfen would also be canceled today.
