He waited until his 10th season in the NBA to beat and even explode his points record.

New York Knicks back Evan Fournier scored 41 points last night during his team's success over the Boston Celtics (108-105) in a regular season game.

Two days after his failed performance against Indiana, the Olympic vice-champion with the Blues at the Tokyo Olympics set the record straight and in good manners against the franchise where he played from March to August 2021.

Against Boston, he had already equaled his career record by scoring 32 points at Madison Square Garden in the first game of the season which saw the Knicks win after two overtime.

But this January 6, he broke his career record again by scoring 41 points with an insolent three-point success with a 10/14.

Evan Fournier was letting it FLY at The Garden!

The 29-year-old offensive leader of the Blues equaled on this occasion the record for three-point shots made this season by an NBA player (10, out of 14 attempts), previously held by Minnesota player Anthony Edwards (10, also on 14 attempted shots, in Denver on December 15). If he did not register the basket of victory achieved by his Canadian teammate RJ Barrett, Evan Fournier was the great craftsman of two successes of his training which was up to 25 points behind (32-57, 21st) .

"I didn't think I was doing as well as in my first game here, and it was already against the Celtics," said the Frenchman in remarks relayed by the Team.

Obviously I'm lacking consistency at the moment.

“The former Nanterre player is, in fact, quite far from his average points in Orlando in 2020-2021 (19.7 points on average) because he is 12.8 points on average with the Knicks.

This success allows the New York team to steal 10th place in the Eastern Conference from their opponent.

Evan Fournier can savor this new point record which places him very high in the history of the Habs in the NBA.

Only Tony Parker (55 and twice 42 points) had done better.
