Bitter defeat for SC Riessersee: The Werdenfels lost 2-1 in Passau on Friday evening.
Passau - October 22, 2021: SC Riessersee defeats the Lindau Islanders in the ice hockey Oberliga Süd 5-2.
It is the second win in a row for the Werdenfels.
The special?
Since then, the SCR has not succeeded in this “feat”, ie two triumphs in a row.
The fact that they played one after the other with the two weakest teams in the league did not change that.
The 3-1 win in Landsberg was followed by a sobering 1-2 defeat in Passau on Friday evening.
Goal shot ratio 39:20 per SCR
One thing is clear: The Riessersers have themselves to blame for this bankruptcy. Sure, Passau left his heart on the ice in the final third and turned the game around with a show of will. However, at this point in time, the Lower Bavarians should have run behind a deficit that they could not have turned. In the end, the goal shot ratio of 39:20 spoke clearly for the guests.
The SCR swept over Passau after a poor start in the second section, creating scoring opportunities every minute.
Riessersee's goalie Daniel Allavena could have rested in the cabin in the second third, so little danger developed the table tenth in this phase.

The Garmisch-Partenkirchner problem: The fireworks of chances resulted in only one hit.
Robin Soudek achieved the long overdue lead for Coach Pat Cortina's team by pursuing from a tight angle.
Previously, Felix Linden had failed at the post and thus drew the line under an almost unbelievable phase of the Werdenfels misfortune.

SC Riessersee lost the lead in the last third
Passau made three crosses at the end of the second section and then realized that despite their inferiority they were only one hit behind. The SCR had missed grains in the first 40 minutes through aggressive fore-checking. The lack of some players - Florian Vollmer, Christopher Chyzowski, Luca Allavena or Benjamin Kronawitter - coupled with the tight schedule made itself felt. Passau got stronger, the Garmisch-Partenkirchner got into trouble, the gaps on the defensive got bigger. Levin Föst knew how to use one of these gaps, marched through the Riesserseer center and gave Allavena no chance to equalize. Now the guests awoke to life again, sought their salvation on the offensive - and were punished. Loss of disc in the forward movement, Sergej Janzen didn’t let himself be asked twice, the 2:1 for Passau. The SCR pressed the equalizer without becoming too dangerous. After 60 minutes, the Cortina team was very frustrated with the absolutely avoidable defeat. Passau, on the other hand, celebrated the first home win of the season.
