It took a lot of strength, but Borussia Dortmund celebrated an important away win in Frankfurt: A 2-0 deficit up to the 70th minute did not prevent BVB from moving closer to Bayern in the table.

Eintracht Frankfurt lost their home game against Borussia Dortmund late with 2: 3 (2: 0).

With two quick hits for Eintracht, Rafael Borré initially looked like the match winner before Dortmund turned up in the second half and Mahmoud Dahoud scored the winning goal in the closing stages.

Dortmund found a good place in the game. After Mats Hummels' cross pass, Thomas Meunier tested Eintracht goalkeeper Kevin Trapp (2nd) with a hard finish from an acute angle. Haaland tried shortly afterwards with a shot that was too centered at the well-standing Trapp (4th). Eintracht slept through the first 15 minutes and was happy not to have fallen behind.

Then, out of nowhere, Borré scored a double within 9 minutes (15th, 24th), in which Dortmund's defensive work left something to be desired twice.

The harmony then strengthened and only the left post prevented the 3-0 by Evan Ndicka (29th).

Shortly afterwards, it was again a carelessness of BVB that gave Eintracht a chance: Dahoud played a catastrophic bad pass in midfield, Lindström was free in front of goal shortly afterwards, but finished hastily (34th).

Dortmund's frustration and late rebellion

The frustration of the Dortmunders was reflected in the body language of Erling Haaland, as was the case recently during the listless appearance in Berlin. Against Martin Hinteregger, the Norwegian, who had long been logged off in the game, went far too briskly into the duel and literally rammed him over (41st). Shortly before the break, Hummels had a chance to catch up after a corner with a strong header into the lower left corner, but Trapp was once again on the spot (45th +2).

At the beginning of the second half, Frankfurt had a lot of possession in the Dortmund half and concentrated defensive work in hand. Haaland was rarely seen in front of the Eintracht goal, around the 62nd minute when he shot a shot from the rotation past the goal. With the substitution of Thorgan Hazard, BVB started its race to catch up: After two deals by Guerreiro and Haaland (68th, 70th), Joker Hazard met in the third attempt to connect. The Haaland served by Reus had turned great and hung up for Hazard.

The Dortmund pressing resulted in increasing counter-chances for Eintracht.

Kostic failed with a hard shot at BVB goalkeeper Kobel (78th).

And in the end everything went very quickly: Bellingham equalized late after a Meunier flank (86th), then BVB rewarded themselves for a show of strength in the second half with the flick of Dahoud (89th) from 19 meters.

Haaland, who found the game late, had worked well past.
