The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced today the dates of the two draws for the last round of African qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup and the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers scheduled in Ivory Coast.
CAF said in a statement on its official website that the draw for the last round of African qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup will take place on January 22, while the draw for the 2023 African Nations Cup qualifiers will be held on the 21st of the same month in Douala, Cameroon.
The preliminary round will be played in a knockout system, with home and away matches including the lowest-ranked teams according to the FIFA classification, while the qualified teams from this round reach the group stage of 48 teams.
