The Catalan broadcaster TV3 had speculated on the annual income of several FC Barcelona stars. Defense star Gerard Piqué did not want to let the numbers sit on him - and published an account statement on Twitter.

With an unusual step, FC Barcelona defender Gerard Piqué denied a report by the Catalan broadcaster TV3 about his supposed annual income.

The 2010 world champion and 2012 European champion published a photo of his salary received on December 30, 2021 on Twitter on Friday evening.

Accordingly, the 34-year-old collected exactly 2,328,884.39 million euros net for his services from July to December.

This is significantly less than the amount mentioned in the TV3 report: There was talk of an annual gross income of 28 million euros.

Piqué's account statement, on the other hand, allows the conclusion that he receives a little less than ten million euros gross per year.

Ter Stegen's alleged salary is also published

Previously, FC Barcelona had already denied the report and described the figures it contains as incorrect.

At TV3, Marc-André ter Stegen's supposed gross earnings were also described.

The German national goalkeeper allegedly received 14 million euros gross.

Unlike Piqué, however, the former Gladbacher did not comment on the report.
