Tonight it will happen.
After two and a half years off the floor, Clay Thompson has confirmed that he will return to the pitches on Sunday and that will happen in the Golden State home game against Cleveland in San Francisco.
Thompson, who has missed the past two seasons due to injuries, and has not actually played 941 in the Warriors uniform, posted a post tonight on his Twitter account in which he stated, "I'm back."
Already last week, Thompson held a kind of general rehearsal when he participated in an internal training game for the Warriors that coach Steve Kerr held in place of Denver's postponed game.
According to U.S. reports, Clay looked excellent, playing 12 minutes, throwing 17 shots and scoring over 50% from the field.

To remind you, in June 2019 during Game 6 of the final against Toronto Thompson rose to the layup and twisted his knee on landing following contact with Danny Green, and after tests, was diagnosed as having torn the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL).
In November 2020 during a Golden State practice game, he tore his Achilles tendon and was disabled for another year and two months!

Whoever could not hide the excitement of returning to the floor is Stephen Kerry, Thompson's good friend of the Splash Brothers, who tweeted: "My brother is back on the pitches, and once again the memories pass before my eyes. What is your favorite moment from him?".
