The German handball players passed the endurance test before the European Championship against Olympic champion France.
The team of national coach Alfred Gislason defeated the French star ensemble at the dress rehearsal for the tournament in Hungary and Slovakia with a goal from Luca Witzke in the final second 35:34 (14:18).
The German team around captain Johannes Golla had meanwhile trailed the record world champions by five goals (16:21).
The top scorer was Kai Häfner with eight goals.
Goalkeeper Andreas Wolff confirmed his strong form with several saves.
The DHB selection, peppered with nine tournament debutants, had already won the first European Championship test against Switzerland on Friday 30:26.
The German team will travel to the preliminary round venue in Bratislava on Wednesday, and the tournament will begin on Thursday.
There she will meet Belarus (January 14), Austria (January 16) and Poland (January 18) in the first phase of the tournament.
