Summary: Maccabi Petah Tikva - Maccabi Haifa 4: 0 (Sport 1)

Sports competitions, and especially football, are often decided because of small things.

One small twist changes reality.

In a parallel universe, Tal Ben-Haim failed 40 cm ahead last Monday and Maccabi Tel Aviv went up to 0: 3 in Haifa. Comes to the game against Maccabi Haifa with a five-point advantage.

And now they return to the real world. Maccabi Haifa will arrive at Turner next week when they look at Hapoel Beer Sheva from above. In that case, we will all have to pray that the 2021/22 season will not die prematurely.

Hapoel Beer Sheva's problem yesterday was not Rokavitsia's miss. The trouble is that she no longer had such situations. Roni Levy's team did not look different from the previous 15 games, but until last night it knew how to maximize opportunities, while relying on its supreme defense. Only twice this season, until last night, did Maccabi Tel Aviv not absorb. Once upon a time, Hapoel Beer Sheva did not win. This whole equation was shaken in Bloomfield.

Hapoel Beer Sheva played against Maccabi Tel Aviv as an underdog. It is problematic on so many levels, from the product to the image. Is this how the table leader should look against a team that collapsed physically and mentally just five days before? And what message does such a loss convey, the result of which may be significant, but the way even more destructive? 58 percent of the time, Maccabi Tel Aviv held the ball, the same Maccabi Tel Aviv that held it in less than a third of a game in Haifa. The Yellows came to 19 threats to the goal compared to 8 of Beer Sheva. In the struggle segment as well, Maccabi Tel Aviv finished with a clear advantage. What worked in Haifa in the previous round did not work in Bloomfield this time. Apparently this method also has a limit.

"I hope this is a one-time stumble," Roni Levy said at the conclusion, and he knows why.

Levy has gained some credit over the course of the season.

In the first games Turner would offer were replete with shouts of contempt, but with the victories also came the realization that this is the team, that this is the method and that victories are more important than style.

The trouble is that such a line of credit is delicate in the first place, because it is difficult to win throughout an entire season, and the slightest failure wakes the bears from their slumber.

Just before the Cup game in Netanya, the hope of the Hapoel Beer Sheva coach should not be regarded as one of those clichés that he tends to disperse.

He understands that he must get back on track quickly, not only for his team, but also for himself.

Even in its less good seasons in the Mitch Goldhaar era, Maccabi Tel Aviv found solace against Hapoel Beer Sheva. In fact, in each of the Canadian's 12 seasons at the club, the Tel Avivians beat their opponent at least once during the season, including the three major championship seasons in the Negev.

As in 2016/17 and 2017/18, which were quite dismal for her, Maccabi Tel Aviv found solace with a small home 0-1 over the southern rival. In the previous two cases it was an imaginary return to the championship fight, which can not be said about yesterday's victory, but its value should still not be underestimated. To return so broken from Haifa and prepare for the game against the leader less than a week later, it is no small matter. Gabi Kanikovsky, who looked lost during the first half, woke up in the second and was responsible for the decisive goal, Daniel Peretz revealed what a future he has and Eden Shamir once again showed that it was not for nothing that he became the favorite of the Serbian coach.

Krasteich knows that what he has is not enough.

With all due respect to the sacrifice and the pleasant victory, Maccabi Tel Aviv is very limited in the offensive part and the defensive part is not impressive.

A team with a flight would leave Bloomfield yesterday with a point and more.

And yet, victory is victory.

Will he take Maccabi Tel Aviv on a new path?

This season's experience says no and yet, there is a sense of change.

new way?

No.

A change?

Maybe yes (Photo: Danny Maron)

Maccabi Haifa's victory in Petah Tikva was frightening in its lightness. The champion got into shape and her already natural favorites got backed up in the table on the eve of this season's game.

Maccabi Haifa has nine consecutive victories. In seven of them she scored three or more goals. This is a crazy statistic. Even if the illusion of a real championship fight still holds, Maccabi Haifa is currently at a rate of 97 goals in an entire season. The only team that did that: Maccabi Haifa of 1993/4, then in 39 games, but also without a loss.

The first goal opened the game, the second closed it and the third (say) prevented a possibility of a comeback.

This leaves us with Ben Shehar's concluding chord, which was, seemingly, insignificant, but hides a certain edge here.

So far, Shahar has been a non-factor almost at Maccabi Haifa.

In recent weeks his name has started to come up in the context of leaving, even if not from the side of the player himself but as speculation.

His entry into the game on Monday with a 2: 1 deficit helped to inspire another spirit in the comeback against Maccabi Tel Aviv, and yesterday he already left an official mark on the progress with a goal.

So why is this so important?

Assuming the striker stays at Maccabi Haifa, it is very possible that she will have to give him significant time down the road.

We are in a not simple era where players are absent and not just because of injuries, the uncertainty is great.

Maccabi Haifa has a deadly attack, but the business is fluid and a little confidence to stay on right now will certainly not hurt.

It is difficult to overstate the amount of talent that exists today at Hapoel Tel Aviv, certainly by the standards it has set in recent years. Osher Davida's goal last week was wonderful, Shai Elias' goal was great in another way. Hapoel Tel Aviv is missing about three wins to secure a place in the top playoff. Who would have believed she would be in such a position nine rounds before the end of the regular season?

Kobe's arrival medicine is proven as bingo. The fans wanted medicine as Klinger's replacement, but the comebacks of popular coaches have a tendency to disappoint. Medicine, who already knows the club and the conduct around it, got into things quickly and was helped by quite a bit of luck, but when you win four times in a row luck is not the only component and certainly not the main one, and yesterday's victory is very lacking.

But when you look beyond the mountains of darkness, that is, the end of the current season, a "too" successful season could be used by Hapoel Tel Aviv as a double-edged sword.

The club's coffers, which are not rich anyway, are expected to suffer a heavy blow in the coming months with compensation for Maor Buzaglo and Ahmad Abed.

Players whose fund has gone up will no longer play for low contracts.

It is possible and desirable to even savor this period, the red fans have honestly earned it.

And yet, at Hapoel Tel Aviv as at Hapoel Tel Aviv, a vague future will always hover over the current achievement.

The story of the ceremony that would not have taken quite a few Maccabi Tel Aviv fans to a demonstration in support of Dor Micha, which raises the question about the sincerity of those very fans who shout insults at Noble Omar.

In terms of affiliation with the club, there is no question here - Micha is a home player who was very popular with the people of Bloomfield, his image is also better and cleaner than that of Noble.

The question that does arise is the question of values.

Last week, Elad Lifshitz wrote here: "This is how it works: humanity will almost always place results and achievements in a higher position than issues of morality. Noble now puts in dwarf proportions value questions versus practical questions ... "And what's wrong? This is only a factual diagnosis: Noble is today an Israeli supermodel."

Do some of these throats really not shout at a noble Omar? (Photo: Danny Maron)

Many football fans, and in particular Maccabi Tel Aviv fans, are alarmed by everything they say or write about Noble, but here, five days pass and some of those throats that cried then were encouraged yesterday.

Has an injustice been done to a nobleman here?

No, but there is another seal of approval here that in the end, in life in general and in football in particular, behind every judicial position lies a position.
