Spain's Rafael Nadal won the Melbourne Tennis Championships today, after defeating American Maxime Crissy, coming from the preliminary rounds.
The 35-year-old Nadal, ranked sixth in the world, defeated 24 years old Chrissy, 7-6, 6-3, in the final of the preliminary tennis tournament for the Australian Open, the first Grand Slam of the season.
This is the first ATP title that El Matador has won since his victory in the Rome final against Novak Djokovic last May.
