The corona plague hit the 14th round of the Athena Wiener Women's Basketball League in the 14th round today (Monday) after several teams were found in the afternoon, near the start of the games, verified corona sands.
Some teams were unable to present supervised and official approvals of verified patients to the Premier League director, so the principal asked the teams to perform antigen tests before arriving in the halls.
In recent days, and also this morning, guidelines for women's Premier League basketball teams have been sharpened in the shadow of the spread of the Omicron variant.
According to the outline sent to teams at the beginning of the season, game postponement will only be upon presentation of medical certificates (supervised antigen test or PCR test) of 3 verified players or 2 verified foreign players.
Unfortunately some of the teams did not prepare properly for the new situation and instead of conducting supervised tests on the morning of the game, they waited for the last minute and thus disrupted the holding of the games tonight.
The individual issues will be discussed in the Disciplinary Tribunal of the Basketball Association.
Only one game - between Elitzur Tel Aviv and the girls of Herzliya took place but after five minutes (10:33) to Herzliya the game ended when four players of Elitzur Tel Aviv came out with five offenses.
