Despite a good performance against EV Pegnitz, the Black Bears Freising lost 3: 5.

The Freising had shown great morale.

Freising

- The Black Bears' small winning streak was torn against Pegnitz: In a hard-fought game, the Freisinger ice hackers lost 3: 5 on Sunday evening in the Weihenstephan Arena. Sports director Gregor Tomasik, who again represented coach Nils Hanfstingl, lost his aura of invincibility on the coaching bench. The hosts again showed a good performance, but struggled with some referee decisions and received too many penalties overall to leave the ice as the winner.

After two wins in a row, the home team started confidently.

After just two minutes, the Freising was cheering - but too early, because the referees had not seen Peter Meier's shot behind the line.

Even Nolan Regan couldn't get the disc past guest goalkeeper Maximilian Schmidt when he had a big chance.

Cold shower in the first third

Pegnitz was more successful: Top striker Roman Navarra curved through the SEF defense in the majority game and hit the right Kreuzeck from close range (9th).

A cold shower for the Black Bears, who subsequently had more of the game, but couldn't get their chances over the line thanks to Michael Seemüller, Vincenz Stegner and Christian Birk.

The Ice Dogs struck again through Navarra (17th) and went into the dressing room with a 2-0 lead.

(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

In the second half, Freising stepped up a gear and tried to turn the game around.

Philipp Aigner missed two good opportunities, but then played in an exemplary manner for Regan, who somehow pushed the puck over the line to make it 1: 2 (34th).

Pegnitz responded with furious attacks, but Manuel Hanisch in the Freisinger Tor was again a sure source of support.

The equalizer fell through defender Quirin Oexler, who, fresh from the penalty bench, grabbed the pane and ran towards the guest goal alone (38th).

Pegnitz strikes back in the final section

The final third began with a serious injury to Ice Dog player Magnus Enk, who had to be carried by the ice (44th).

Shortly afterwards, Nikolas Schünemann gave Freising a 3-2 lead (47th).

Pegnitz wanted to keep his mini-chance at the playoffs, switched to two rows, stormed as much as he could and came to equalize through Eric Schuster (53rd).

With a disputable Pegnitzer 5: 3 majority, Roman Navarra put his team in the front again (54th).

The Bears tried to come back outnumbered from the 56th minute, but Nolan Regan didn't have more than one chance.

Jonas Voigt scored for Pegnitz to make the final score 5: 3 into the empty goal (60th).
