The meeting could not begin until around 30 minutes after the scheduled start at 10 a.m. (local time).

The case will be heard in front of Judge Anthony Kelly.

And with a comment he showed a tendency in the interests of the Serbs.

Kelly interrupted the world number one attorneys and listed what steps, according to his understanding, Djoković had taken before boarding the plane to Melbourne and after he was stopped by officers.

He concluded his comment by saying, "The point I'm a little excited about is, what more could this man have done?"

Djoković landed in Melbourne on Wednesday evening (local time) to defend his title at the Australian Open from January 17th.

However, from the authorities' point of view, the 34-year-old Serb was unable to present the necessary documents for a medical exemption in order to be able to enter the country without a corona vaccination.

Djoković's visa was declared null and void, and the athlete has since been stuck in the Park Hotel in Melbourne's Carlton district - a controversial facility where the authorities also detain migrants threatened with deportation.

Djoković's lawyers are suing the cancellation of his visa.

The court will decide whether the tennis player will be allowed to enter Australia or whether he will be deported.

On Monday, the athlete's side was the first to comment.

The Australian Home Office representatives are scheduled to deliver their opinion in court at 3 p.m. (5 a.m. CET).

It is still unclear when a decision will be made in this case.
