Ice hockey national player Moritz Seider reacted with understanding to the NHL's cancellation of the Olympics, despite his disappointment.
Los Angeles - “It was a huge disappointment for me, I would have loved to fly.
But you also have to understand that there are so many interlocking gears that at some point you can no longer answer, "said the 20-year-old defender of the Detroit Red Wings of the German press agency less than a month before the start of the Olympic Games in Beijing.
Because so many games have to be rescheduled in the NHL due to the numerous corona cases, the world's best ice hockey league withdrew the promise of professionals participating in the Olympic Games in December.

“Of course, you've been toying for it a bit, and that was a huge dream that might have come true.
But I said from the start that unfortunately we cannot influence anything, that was out of our control, ”said Seider.
"It just wasn't meant to be."
Seider had already been named as one of three NHL professionals alongside goalkeeper Philipp Grubauer and superstar Leon Draisaitl for the German Olympic squad, but will not be able to take part in the Games for the first time in Italy until 2026 at the earliest.
“To play for the national team is always a huge honor for me and also incredibly important to be able to represent the country.
There is simply no bigger stage than Olympia, ”he said.
