Inexplicably, the loan was transferred to Van Leven shortly after he was fired from Maccabi Tel Aviv and after the club found the mistake, the Dutchman was told that he had two options: first, to return the grant given to him by mistake. The parties even had a discussion with the participation of a lawyer on Van Leven's behalf and Maccabi Tel Aviv were convinced that the Dutchman's attorney accepted Maccabi Tel Aviv's explanation and understood that a mistake had been made in good faith, so in any case Van Leven now received money in the amount of his salaries. The club insisted and proved that Van Leven's contract states that he should only receive a European grant at the end of the season and is therefore confident in the club that there is no room for a lawsuit from the Dutchman here.
