Starting this morning (Monday) in Australia there is a discussion about the visa of Novak Djokovic, who arrived in Melbourne on Wednesday night to take part in the Australian Open which will open on January 17th.
8:16:
Judge Anthony Kelly cancels Djokovic's visa cancellation - and the world number one will be allowed to stay in Australia, and his passport will be returned to him.
The judge ruled that he should be released from custody at the hotel immediately.
In an online hearing over the course of the morning, the Victoria government refused to approve the actor's entry into the country, insisting on his deportation.
The Serb appealed the state decision and the tribunal eventually upheld his appeal.
However, according to reports to the state, there is still another option left to cancel the tennis player's visa, so the saga has not yet been finalized.

Already during the hearing, Djokovic was released by the judges from the duty of solitary confinement at the hotel where he had stayed so far, and received permission to roam freely in Melbourne.
As you may recall, on Wednesday Djokovic landed in Melbourne with the aim of participating in the Australian Open, and although he is not vaccinated against Corona he claimed to have a medical permit to participate in the prestigious Grand Slam where he has won 9 times in the past.
But at the airport he was detained by the authorities and sent to solitary confinement at the hotel claiming that his visa was illegal.
