Sascha Mölders has found a new club in SG Sonnenhof Großaspach.

His ex-coach Michael Köllner ticks off the topic - and doesn't cry after his ex-captain.

- Sascha Mölders is finally history on Grünwalder Straße.

After terminating his contract with TSV 1860, the former lion captain found a new club in SG Sonnenhof Großaspach.

Instead of ambitious plans in the 3rd league, the 36-year-old is now relegated to the relegation battle in the Regionalliga Südwest.

Ex-coach Michael Köllner is meanwhile certain that his former extended arm will approach the task in Großaspach with the necessary seriousness: "The end in 1860 is definitely an additional motivation".

He recently underlined that Mölders is still motivated with independent runs.

The cult striker shared them on Instagram.

Quite a surprise for Köllner: “I was really astonished that he was running at home again.

So he still seems to be full of energy. "

In general, the man from Upper Palatinate does not seem to mourn his ex-captain.

“As a player, you have to perform well.

With Sascha there were ups and downs in the end, "said Köllner, explaining Mölders' joker role in the first half of the season, with which the alpha lion was not satisfied.

If he had done that, a collaboration for Köllner would still have been conceivable.

"If he sat down on the bench, he might have played here for another two years," speculated the Löwen coach.

Despite the many background noises around the end of Mölders, Köllner looks back positively on the last two years with his captain.

"Overall, we still had a great time for the fact that he wanted to quit back then," he explained.

As a reminder: Mölders had mutated to the oldest top scorer in Germany's professional leagues of all time with 22 goals this season.

Mölders, on the other hand, is now fully concentrating on his new role at the regional league team and does not look back: “I'm really, really up for it. My family is also fully behind me. This is soccer romance. We live in the village ourselves and here we are with a village association. That's why it fits very well, ”explains the former 'Wampe von Giesing'. For the 'Dorfverein' Mölders has also canceled one or the other top-class professional in the professional field: “I still had two or three really good offers from the third division. But I always have to do what I feel like doing. And that's why I decided on Großaspach ”.

There the striker will also meet a former companion.

Because with the engagement of Mölders as a playing assistant coach, the SG announced that Hans-Jürgen Boysen will return as head coach.

Boysen had already trained Mölders at the second division club FSV Franfurt: “He (Mölders) got a lot of blows from me until he worked the way I imagined.

But he never took it wrong and made progress, ”recalls the 64-year-old.

Now it is Mölders himself who is going to give the younger players a whack in order to develop them further.
