Kyrie Irving played only his second game of the season tonight in the Brooklyn uniform.
The quarterback who refuses to get vaccinated for Corona contributed 22 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists, but did not stop the Nets from losing 114: 108 in Portland in a game in which the slightly injured Arden did not play.
Kyrie is known to only be able to play away games because Corona-infected New York laws prohibit unvaccinated players from playing.

The best coordinator in history?

Kyrie as mentioned could not prevent a loss, but even before the game he won extraordinary praise from Chonsey Billups, the Portland coach who was a great coordinator himself and also previously won the MVP title of the final series.
"Kyrie is a magician," Billups said, "I think in the center position, Kyrie is the most talented player ever. Just a net talent, not something else. He's the best player I've seen in that position and he sets the tone when he plays."
"His ability to score baskets is amazing," Billups added, "he delivers much better than people give him credit for. He's a true champion. I think he scored the biggest shot I've ever seen in an NBA Finals (against Golden State in a Cleveland uniform)."
These statements are quite surprising given the fact that with Kyrie in the team plays James Harden and in this league stars among others Steph Kerry.

"I appreciate these praises," Kyrie said himself and did not shy away from adding, "I agree that my level of talent at this stage of my career deserves this appreciation. But the work never ends. You have to create a basketball culture and work on the team chemistry. These praises only add to me "Motivation to prove them right. Want to continue writing my legacy with amazing teammates."
The Nets are under an unusual game load.
They arrived in Portland a day after a victory in overtime at home to San Antonio.
On Wednesday they will fly to Chicago for an away game against the Bulls and then return again to Brooklyn for a home game against Oklahoma City.
