At the weekend several young German players celebrated their professional debut.

A DFB hope was also allowed to run at Liverpool FC.

Liverpool - The future belongs to the youth! Seldom has this sentence been more appropriate in football. Because at the weekend several young hopefuls made their debut in their clubs. First and foremost, of course, the just 16-year-old Paul Wanner, who has been the youngest Bundesliga player of all time at Bayern Munich since Friday. Like his team-mate Lucas Copado (who will celebrate his 18th birthday on Monday), he was substituted on in the closing stages against Borussia Mönchengladbach.

After Dortmund's Youssoufa Moukoko, Wanner is the second youngest debutant in the German upper house of football.

The Bayern teen was 16 years and 15 days old when he premiered, the BVB striker was two weeks younger when he played for the professional team of Borussia for the first time in November 2020.

Since Saturday there has also been a new third place in the ranking: Sidney Raebiger from RB Leipzig.

Professional debuts for German talents: Paul Wanner, Sidney Raebiger and Melkamu Frauendorf

Born in Saxony, he was substituted for the first time in the Bundesliga in the game against FSV Mainz 05 at the age of 16 years, eight months and 22 days. At first glance, the future of German football does not seem to be as bad as it was recently claimed. Of course, you also have to take the current situation into account: Without the many corona failures at FC Bayern, Wanner would hardly have made his early debut. Raebiger has been part of the Leipzig professional squad since the beginning of the season, he has already collected minutes in the DFB Cup.

There was also a premiere in England that should please German football fans: With Melkamu Frauendorf, the next DFB jewel has celebrated its debut.

The U18 national player was allowed to play in the FA Cup on Sunday, coach Jürgen Klopp changed him shortly before the end against the third division club Shrewsbury Town.

The Reds won the game 4-1.

"Strong!

(...) Congratulations on your first professional appearance, Melkamu ”, the Hoffenheim youth academy congratulated the 17-year-old midfielder, who will be celebrating his 18th birthday on Wednesday, via Facebook.

Born in Ethiopia, he came to Germany with his older brother Melesse when he was four years old.

In the adoptive family from Baden-Württemberg, one quickly recognized their footballing talent.

The duo started at SV Schefflenz, then moved together to TSG Hoffenheim - and Melkamu finally took the big step to Liverpool FC in August 2020.

There he has so far attracted attention in the youth, and this season he has made eleven appearances in the U18 Premier League.

He got four goals and four assists.

Wanner, Raebiger, Moukoko, Frauendorf and also players like Jamal Musiala, Luca Netz or Florian Wirtz, who as 18-year-olds already had a number of Bundesliga games under their belt.
