A message to Liverpool?
In a special interview just before he begins his career at the African Championship with the Egyptian national team, Muhammad Salah said he has no exaggerated demands in talks he is having with the club about extending his contract at Anfield.
Salah, whose contract with the luxury club expires in the summer of 2023, has publicly stated on several occasions that he wants to stay at Liverpool, but both sides have not yet reached an agreement on the new terms for the Premier League's top scorer.
"I want to stay, but it's not in my hands, it's in theirs," Salah told GQ.
"They know what I want. I'm not asking for crazy things."
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp told Sky Sports last month that the club are in "really good talks" with Salah over a new contract.
"This is my fifth year now at Liverpool, the Egyptian added." I know the club very well.
I love the fans.
The fans love me.
But my situation is currently in the hands of the management. "
According to media in the kingdom, Salah wants Liverpool to continue to strive to win all the titles, so it's not just a matter of financial negotiations. Varden Henderson, 31, Thiago Alcantara, 30, Virgil Van Dyke, 30, and Fabino, 28, claim that a number of young and promising players should be brought in to keep the team at the top of European football for years to come.
Salah was Liverpool's highest earner until Virgil Van Dyke signed his new contract and now reports claim the Egyptian is demanding a salary of £ 300,000 a week.
