Cristiano Ronaldo, David Beckham, Michael Jordan and now also Linoy Ashram.

The artistic gymnast, the Olympic champion from Tokyo, entered today (Wednesday) the most respected and limited list at the local level where a statue inspired by her was placed.

The extraordinary work was created by sculptor Rachel Weitzer, who has been following Ashram devoutly in recent years and has decided to create from aluminum the figure that expresses the movements of the Israeli gymnast, but it does not bear her facial features.

In a joint decision with the ashram and the gymnastics association, it was decided to place the statue 1.10 meters high, next to the gym tent at the Wingate Institute, where Ashram has spent most of her life in the past year and a half, preparing for the Tokyo Olympics.

The unveiling ceremony was attended in addition to Ashram and the creator, including the heads of the gymnastics association with the chairman of the association, Avi Sagi, the current gymnasts who took a break from training nearby and the director of the Wingate Institute, Shai Avrahami.

Ashram said: "Thank you for the statue. I went in and saw it and it is very beautiful. Thank you to everyone for the support, Ayelet and those who went through a difficult path. Despite all the difficulties we went through no matter what, hope we bring more achievements. What next? I know. "

Creator Weitzer said: "I did not dream then that Linoy would win a medal, but it might have been a sign to come to commemorate the achievement, and here we are to salute her and coach Ayelet Sussman. A statue that will become a signal of excellence and success, in the next medal we will do it with the ball."

For those who need to remember what Ashram received the honor, in addition to the historic achievement last summer with the Olympic gold, also an incredible number of 11 medals at the World Championships (6 silver and 5 bronze), twice crowned European Champion (2020 and 2021), in addition to 2 silver and 2 bronze.

Since the Olympics and after resting and celebrating the achievement, Ashram is investing her time between training and studies, when she has not yet finally decided whether to continue the upcoming campaign with the new constitution, when it should be mentioned that this coming June, the European Championships will be held here in Tel Aviv.
