Senior tennis player Novak Djokovic broke a silence last night (light for Wednesday) regarding reports that he participated in tennis events despite being positive for Corona, and still participated in a tennis tournament last December, and for writing incorrect data in the Australian Immigration Authority documents when entering the country Open Australia.
In a statement, Djokovic explained that these incidents happened due to a sequence of mistakes and misunderstandings on his part and on the part of the staff accompanying him, and not out of malicious intent.
"The documents submitted were filled out by my professional team, and a mistake was made there when it was marked that I had not been to another country in the last 14 days," the tennis player claimed.
"It was a human error and certainly not a deliberate act," he said.

"We are living in a complex period of a global epidemic, and mistakes can happen," Djokovic continued.
Regarding his participation in a tennis event after being found to be positive for Corona, the tennis player explained that he had several tests before his participation, which came out negative, and did not know about the positive result before.
Regarding his participation in a press conference the next day, he said it was a "wrong judgment", adding: "I acted as best I could to keep everyone around me safe."
As you may recall, about a week ago, the senior tennis player was arrested at the entrance to Australia, where he arrived to participate in an international tennis tournament, because he was not vaccinated against Corona.
However, a state judge decided to release him and argued that the decision to detain him was "unreasonable".
The Australian Open tournament is set to take place on January 17th.
