Olympic Winter Games 2022: Classics and new sports side by side
Many sports such as cross-country skiing and bobsleigh are part of the 2022 Winter Olympics like snow and ice.
What is new for most, however, are the so-called mixed relays, in which men and women from one nation compete against other countries.
In the past winter games, numerous young sports first presented themselves in demonstration competitions and later firmly established themselves in the program.
Varied and acrobatic elements in snowboarding are attracting more and more young people to the audience.
Ski cross, halfpipe and slopestyle - since 1998, the athletes of ski freestyle have been captivating their spectators.
The short track discipline has been part of the Olympic family since 1992, an almost chaotic, extremely fast-paced type of speed skating on very tight laps, close together and with runners in constantly changing positions.
